We have all heard the saying "Practice Makes Perfect", right? Remember when you were a kid taking piano lessons and your parents said Practice makes Perfect? Well I practiced and honestly perfection did not come out of me taking piano lessons.
Honestly, the notion that practicing something could help me reach "Perfection" is a joke and completely wrong! Perfection does not exist, period, there I said it!
PERFECTION DOES NOT EXIST!
Now that felt good to say out loud!!
Let's look at this a little differently. How about a new way of thinking;
Practice Makes PROGRESS.
The more a person works on something, the more progress is made. Not perfection, progress. If you want your business to grow, you work on it, you do all of the things and you will see progress. If you are in a tough relationship, you work on the relationship and it gets better, that is progress.
The idea of perfection really means that we have no where to grow. I don't know about you, but I do not want to be perfect. I don't want to stop growing. I am happy to be the imperfect person I am, who strives to be the best version of herself and is daily making progress!
At the end of each day, I want to be able to look in the mirror and say, "You made a lot of progress today, well done." The work I do on myself, my relationships, my friendships, my career is always a work in progress!
